Perspectives from the Moon.

My trip to our moon base with James has been moved to today, so we set off this morning. It’s nice to be able to do my work from more than one location; it allows me to visit different parts of the colony's infrastructure and meet new people.

The view of the colony from the moon is quite spectacular, a vivid reminder that everything in this chaotic universe of ours is seen through countless different perspectives.

Everyone views the world slightly differently, and that’s what makes us unique. However, it can also cause arguments that lead to conflict and the loss of life.

No one is born with prejudice, hatred, or bigotry; these are all learned through observation and the teachings of others. Sadly, despite our societal advancements, these darker sides to our nature endure through the centuries.

I try my utmost to be open and transparent about my views and opinions, as well as kind and courteous to whoever I meet. I evaluate people purely on how they treat me and others. Not their race, gender, or sexual orientation. In the end, it’s our actions that define us.

Well, I've done a little bit of research and Rom is still the current Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance at the ripe age of 137 with his wife Leeta (never quote a lady's age). From what I have read, he has made a few reforms to Ferengi society and the Rules of Acquisition. I won't go into details here, but suffice to say, they look like they are definitely an improvement with room to grow. I wonder if he has time to see an old friend and if so, it would make me the first Dax ever to visit Ferenginar.

who am I?

It's me, Dax. I'm Orzal, the 10th host of the Dax Symbiont. I followed on from Ezri in 2462, she was 108. To say that it's an honour to be the current host is an understatement.  I met my fiancée, Ranih, in 2466, just four years later and I proposed to her, as the sun rose over the Fa'hari Mountains on Trill, early this year. Our wedding is next year in the summer. Lots to do plenty to plan and sort. So, we live and work on the colony, our home for the foreseeable future. In my job, I do get a slight perk. Every third week, get to work from our orbital station. From there I enjoy a view of Docosie III and any amazing ships that visit.  Best get back to work - Dax.

Unexpected

Well.... That was unexpected. I visited the coffee shop this afternoon, just to get out of the house and stretch my legs.  When I got there, it was quite busy so as I was looking for a place to sit with my coffee, a voice spoke above the background noise say I could join them. I hadn't noticed who they were till I sat down.  That's when I looked at the couple sat across from me, Benjamin and Alora Bashir.  I tried to act normal but Alora picked up on it and asked if I was ok.  I thought about how to respond for what seemed like an eternity. Just as I was about reply, their coffees arrived. After a short pause, I introduced myself. Benjamin's eyes widened, similar to the infamous stare of Gowron. I then said that yes, I was Ezri but I'm Orzal now, and I live on Docosie as one of the administrators.  I told them about my life here, Ranih and our holographic cat, Jodo.
