The Rookie Q

​I spent most of this evening discussing what happened today at 13:00 hours with Governor Maura.

​The colony, once again, experienced an unusual incident, but this time there was one glaring difference: I was the sole witness, as a Q entity visited my office.

​This was not the same Q encountered numerous times by Captain Picard, Captain Janeway, and Captain Sisko.

​He was a very young Q, just beginning his journey of omnipotence, as I suspected. The reason why the colony of Docosie had experienced these whimsical flexes of his powers was purely random, a cosmic rookie testing his footing.

​Interestingly, he knew I had encountered a Q before during my life as Jadzia, so he realized I might put two and two together. To my surprise, he actually apologized if he had caused any issues.

​I advised him that he had only caused concern amongst the colonists, but I admitted it was one of the most interesting things to have happened here in a long time.

​He remained in my office for a good 20 minutes before disappearing. I have a feeling that won't be the last time I see him.

Well, I've done a little bit of research and Rom is still the current Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance at the ripe age of 137 with his wife Leeta (never quote a lady's age). From what I have read, he has made a few reforms to Ferengi society and the Rules of Acquisition. I won't go into details here, but suffice to say, they look like they are definitely an improvement with room to grow. I wonder if he has time to see an old friend and if so, it would make me the first Dax ever to visit Ferenginar.

who am I?

It's me, Dax. I'm Orzal, the 10th host of the Dax Symbiont. I followed on from Ezri in 2462, she was 108. To say that it's an honour to be the current host is an understatement.  I met my fiancée, Ranih, in 2466, just four years later and I proposed to her, as the sun rose over the Fa'hari Mountains on Trill, early this year. Our wedding is next year in the summer. Lots to do plenty to plan and sort. So, we live and work on the colony, our home for the foreseeable future. In my job, I do get a slight perk. Every third week, get to work from our orbital station. From there I enjoy a view of Docosie III and any amazing ships that visit.  Best get back to work - Dax.

Unexpected

Well.... That was unexpected. I visited the coffee shop this afternoon, just to get out of the house and stretch my legs.  When I got there, it was quite busy so as I was looking for a place to sit with my coffee, a voice spoke above the background noise say I could join them. I hadn't noticed who they were till I sat down.  That's when I looked at the couple sat across from me, Benjamin and Alora Bashir.  I tried to act normal but Alora picked up on it and asked if I was ok.  I thought about how to respond for what seemed like an eternity. Just as I was about reply, their coffees arrived. After a short pause, I introduced myself. Benjamin's eyes widened, similar to the infamous stare of Gowron.
