Toffee Nut Latte

Ranih and I are sat back in comfortable seats, enjoying an indulgent Toffee Nut Latte with cream and a Hot Chocolate with chocolate sauce at a café in the main centre. Nice and warm but the snow outside is in huge drifts with ones coming up halfway up some of the windows.

Obviously everyone used the subterranean network to get her. Well, mostly everyone. There are the odds few who just love the deep snow and like to trudge through it to get here and there like some epic explorers out in an unknown wilderness. 

We start back at work at the beginning of next week. Well, I do but Ranih has an extra week before she starts back at the school.

Well, I've done a little bit of research and Rom is still the current Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance at the ripe age of 137 with his wife Leeta (never quote a lady's age). From what I have read, he has made a few reforms to Ferengi society and the Rules of Acquisition. I won't go into details here, but suffice to say, they look like they are definitely an improvement with room to grow. I wonder if he has time to see an old friend and if so, it would make me the first Dax ever to visit Ferenginar.

who am I?

It's me, Dax. I'm Orzal, the 10th host of the Dax Symbiont. I followed on from Ezri in 2462, she was 108. To say that it's an honour to be the current host is an understatement.  I met my fiancée, Ranih, in 2466, just four years later and I proposed to her, as the sun rose over the Fa'hari Mountains on Trill, early this year. Our wedding is next year in the summer. Lots to do plenty to plan and sort. So, we live and work on the colony, our home for the foreseeable future. In my job, I do get a slight perk. Every third week, get to work from our orbital station. From there I enjoy a view of Docosie III and any amazing ships that visit.  Best get back to work - Dax.

Docosie III - New Beginnings

Myself and my fiancé, Ranih have just moved to this new colony to start a new life together. Ranih, who is already an accomplished teacher, will be joining the education department to teach children under the age of 10. I, a well trained and experienced administrator and diplomat, will be joining the main administrative centre for the colony.  Docosie III is on the very edge of Federation space. Quite the distance from our Homeworld of Trill. It might take time to get used to living here but so far, things are going well.  I plan to use this journal to document our lives here as we embark on new beginnings for both of us.
